Enriching lives through participation in music
SoundReach Choir is a performance ensemble for adults with a variety of disabilities that has formed 4 groups around the state of Iowa since 1994. All SoundReach Choirs were put on hold in the spring of 2020, and many of the regular singers have been getting together virtually since then for “SoundReach Singalongs.” These Singalongs have been a wonderful way to continue making music with friends during the pandemic, while also looking forward to the day when we could resume in person.
That day finally came for the choirs in Iowa City and Urbandale this fall! These two choirs were able to resume rehearsals and hold a final performance while observing precautions aligned with current safety guidelines.
"SoundReach means a lot to me. It helps me not give up and encourages me, and I like the music!"

Both seasons were a huge success and enjoyed by all, and we look forward to getting all of the choirs back together in 2022! We also want to give a shout out to Urbandale United Methodist Church, the Robert A. Lee Recreational Center in Iowa City, and the Iowa City Senior Center - thank you for allowing us to use your facilities to rehearse and perform. Thank you also to the family and staff who help get singers to rehearsals and performances, and to all who support these ensembles in the audience at their performances!
SoundReach Singalongs are currently offered on Zoom year-round, and SoundReach choirs will resume in the spring. Sign up for our email list to receive information when registration opens, and visit our website for more details.
