Musical Memoirs

A personalized reminiscence program connecting older adults and loved ones through music.

Musical Memoirs is a remote, individualized reminiscence program from West Music that will help you and your loved ones celebrate and commemorate essential milestones from their lives. A board certified music therapist will guide conversations with family members or loved ones, identifying and playing favorite songs associate with the most important milestones of their lives. At the end of the program, we will provide a playlist of all the essential songs discussed to make the memories last a lifetime!

What is involved in this program? 

  • Four music therapy sessions for a special introductory price of $149.
    • Makes a great gift! 
  • An older adult (or couple) will connect and reminisce virtually with a family member or friend, guided and supported by a board certified music therapist. 
  • At the conclusion of the program, the music therapist will provide a playlist of all of the songs discussed as a keepsake for the participant and family. 

What activities will be included in the sessions? 

  • Discuss meaningful music associated with different milestones and chapters in life
  • Singalong with preferred songs that the music therapist will play on guitar. 
  • listen to and engage with recordings of favorite songs.
  • Move to the music, and engage in collaborative music-making, as appropriate

What will you need to participate?

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a microphone (and a camera is preferred). 
  • An internet connection that can support live video
  • The ability to log on to a weekly meeting, either independently or with assistance from facility or staff
